Hi, welcome to my website!

My name is Matthew Barney. I'm a Software Developer / Software Engineer / Programmer / Coder currently employed at BazaarVoice. I graduated from the University of Alberta Augustana Campus in 2021 with a degree in Computer Science.

I've worked all across the tech stack and my favourite part of software development is the oppurtunity to try out and learn different things. So far across my education and professional career I've worked with 12 different languages and my experience spans Android and iOS development, web development, database design, and back end server development.

Outside of work I enjoy playing video games, primarily World of Warcraft, Warframe, and Monster Hunter. I'm an avid collector of Lego, my favourite set (so far) being the motorized lighthouse set from 2022. I have 22 sets built and displayed with a decent backlog I'm slowly chewing through as I make more space for it. My favourite vacation spot is the Rocky Mountains and I try to get there as much as I can. I also have two cats named Henry (tuxedo) and Theo (orange) that I enjoy hanging out with.
